Description

Strainrite’s Brevi-Cap series of pleated filter capsules offer a compact-size cartridge filter for smaller applications. Nearly all of Strainrite’s standard cartridge filter media, including membranes (PES polyethersulfone membrane, charged nylon, PTFE membrane and more) and pre-filtration materials (including polypropylene and glass fiber) can be placed into this capsule configuration. This is an ideal format for smaller batches, lower flow rates, and smaller footprint compared to other traditional cartridges.

The smaller size of the Brevi-Cap helps to reduce hold up and increase yield of valuable products compared to larger sized filters. Pilot plant trials easily scale up from this size to other formats. Utility applications where “drops” are made to various points-of-use might use a Brevi-Cap at each POU. This is also a nice compact size for OEM equipment. In addition the Brevi-Cap avoids CIP and cross contamination while also reducing operator exposure.

The Brevi-Cap comes in a variety of filtration media:
• Sterilizing grade PES membrane
• Bioburden reduction and prefiltration
• PES membrane
• Charged nylon for endotoxin
• Polypropylene microfiber for prefiltration
• Glass microfiber for pre-filtration
• PTFE vent filter
